MX5 engine overhaul

Many people have now had their MX5s upgraded by us; after all, the first MX5 convertibles date back to 1989. Once you’ve had an engine overhaul, you’ll need to ‘run in’ the ‘new engine’ first, and then your MX5 will have a brand-new beating heart again!

We offer engine overhauls for the MX5 NA, NB, NBFL and NC.

You can have your own engine reconditioned or choose to have a reconditioned engine that we already have in stock fitted. It’s simply a matter of personal preference.

What exactly happens to a reconditioned engine?
The reconditioned engine is thoroughly cleaned and checked to ensure everything is in order. It is also fitted with new bearings, piston rings and gaskets. All valves are ground, the block and head are resurfaced, and valve seals are replaced.
