MX5 ME442 Plug-In ECU Engine Management System (2 Plug) (1989 - 1995)

A Motorsport Electronics ME442 MX5 Plug-In ECU engine management system for the Mazda MX5 NA (1989 - 1995).

This easy to install Plug-In ECU with integrated lambda sensor replaces the original circuit board in the housing of the factory-ECU of the Mazda MX5 NA with 2 plugs. Because the ECU fits into the original OEM housing and can use the original connector, this is an unobtrusive and efficient way to upgrade the engine control system.

The system supports both the 1.6l and 1.8l with the same hardware. The only additional modification is the included vacuum hose that must be connected from the ECU to the intake manifold.

Keep in mind that the 1.6l throttle position sensor is an on/off switch, ME recommends replacing it with a variable throttle position sensor for better throttle response. The 1.8l already comes standard with this. Additionally, by installing an intake air temperature sensor, the MAF-sensor can be removed.

Caution!

Please check if your standard-ECU has 2 or 3 plugs before ordering. The MX5 NA from 1986 through 1995 has 2 plugs.
For a 1996 and 1997 MX5 NA, these are 3 plugs. For this type, you will need part number 0805NA05.
