Since the 1980s, BBR has accumulated experience developing turbo packages for the MX 5's engines, and the latest package completes BBR its portfolio to all generations of Mazda its iconic sports car.

The key element of the Stage 1 turbo package is a twin-scroll turbo of the very latest generation. BBR has chosen to manufacture the turbo wheel from a single block of aluminum and use a lightweight turbine housing and internal wastegate. As original to the Skyactiv engine, the included 4-2-1 exhaust manifold helps to effectively refresh air in the cylinders. All this together with the efficient Mazda Skyactiv engine, leads to an efficient and responsive compressed and forced air intake.

The new Stage 1 turbo package increases the 1.5's power output to as much as 211 hp, which is 82 hp more than standard. Equally important, of course, is the even distribution of power; more than 150 hp is available from 4000 rpm to the 7750 rpm limit. Maximum torque of 267 Nm is released at 4150 rpm, which is 117 Nm more than standard! 204 Newton meters of torque is available from 3000 to just below 7000 rpm. This huge spread of power and torque greatly enhances the performance of the 1.5 liter MX 5, regardless of road or track conditions!

The package is easily assembled by mechanics. Big advantage, no mechanical or body modifications need to be made.

The main components of the BBR stage 1 turbo package are:
- BBR exclusive TSX28-67R twin-scroll turbo;
- BBR cast iron exhaust manifold ;
- BBR stainless steel downpipe;
- BBR high-flow lightweight aluminum intercooler, including black intake hoses;
- BBR high-flow black silicone turbo hoses and stainless steel hose clamps with black coating;
- BBR lightweight black aluminum battery tray;
- BBR recirculating dump valve;
- BBR / Bosch intake manifold pressure sensor / Temperature sensor;
- BBR carbon fiber turbo heat shield;
- BBR high flow K&N Typhoon kit (open air filter);
- BBR stainless steel oil and cooling water lines;
- BBR Starchip EcuTek RaceRom calibration software.

All parts are finished to look factory and original, such as the black hoses and stainless steel clamps with black coating.

The Mazda MX 5 ND Stage 1 turbo package costs € 9,250.00 including VAT and assembly. The package will be tuned for you by qualified engineers upon installation.

A do it yourself package, including BBR parts and software is also available and costs € 7595.00 including VAT.

A battery with different dimensions than original is required. Upon installation we will change the battery for you. Unfortunately, the battery cannot be sent with the do-it-yourself package.
The package is available on order and currently has a delivery time of five weeks. When assembled, we will need your car for approximately one week. Of course, you can use a loaner car.
