The bearing sleeves on an MX5 NBFL (2001–2005) are located at various pivot points in the suspension system and ensure that the control arms can move in a controlled manner without developing play. Due to age and wear, the rubber can dry out, crack, or become softer. You’ll often notice worn bearing sleeves by knocking or creaking noises, a less precise steering feel, and a car that responds less precisely to steering inputs.
