A coilover kit for the Mazda MX-5 NC (2005–2015) combines a spring and shock absorber with an adjustable spring seat. This allows the ride height to be adjusted, while the shock absorber controls the movement. The kit thus performs the same load-bearing and damping functions as separate shock absorbers and springs, but adds the ability to fine-tune the suspension setup.
