On a Mazda MX-5 NC (2005–2015), rubber seals protect the junction between the A-pillar and the roof from water and wind. There are also sealed mounting points and cover caps around the windshield visor. These parts seal joints and openings in the body; exposure to sunlight and aging can cause the rubber to lose its flexibility.
