MX5 BBR Super 175 1.8l

The "Super 175" package from BBR for your Mazda MX 5 NC (2006-2015) with a 1.8l engine.

This package is specially designed to provide great value for relatively little money. The upgrade provides better throttle response, higher power, better handling and more fun. BBR has managed to achieve a power increase that was previously impossible with conventional atmospheric tuning. Engine power will increase by 39 hp and torque by 22 Nm, this will be felt at every speed. The package has been developed for daily use.

The package has been fully developed and has proven itself. It gives the 1.8 MX 5 NC more power than the 2.0 models, without using a turbocharger.

The BBR 'Super 175' package for the 1.8 MX 5 NC includes the following parts:

BBR GTi has noticed that there are a lot of MX 5 drivers who want more than just an exhaust or software upgrade, but not a turbocharger or supercharger. This package was developed especially for those people. The power increase of 39 hp has been proven on a dyno test bench. The result is a peak power of 175 hp at 7300 rpm. However, this only tells half the story. The improved power distribution is just as important. Careful development at BBR has resulted in exclusive camshaft profiles, with unique valve actuation specifications. The camshaft profiles combined with the included exhaust manifold and ECU chip create a package, which already delivers strong power gains above 3000 rpm. The standard power is increased at every rpm and as a result the power delivery remains very stable. This ensures high user-friendliness.

BBR has placed great emphasis on increasing torque, which ensures that handling and throttle response are superior to the standard MX 5 NC. The torque of a 1.8 MX 5 NC will increase by 22 Nm to 195 Nm, at just 4750 rpm. This is no later than the standard 1.8 MX 5 NC and proves the smooth performance of the upgrade.

Of course, cost and comfort at high speeds were also considered when developing the package. Therefore, this package uses the standard catalytic converter and exhaust system.

Careful development of BBR has ensured that the emissions of the package remain fully within European regulations, both when using Euro 98 and Euro 95. All standard safety systems remain fully functional in converted cars.
