MX5 BBR Super 225 2.0L

BBR Super 225 high-power naturally aspirated tuning package for the Mazda MX-5 NC 2.0L models (2005–2015). The entire package is designed to enhance the everyday driving experience. The package is intended for MX-5 enthusiasts who want to get the most out of their convertible. The ultimate non-turbo tuning package from Mazda tuning specialist BBR GTI.

Delivers a dyno-proven 224 pk at 7550 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 5950 rpm.
Mazda’s signature characteristics and electronic safety features remain intact.

Can be retrofitted as a complete package or as an add-on upgrade for existing BBR Super 200 customers.

The BBR 'Super 225' is a great upgrade resulting from many months of in-house mechanical, electronic, and chassis development. Available as a complete package for a drive-in, drive-out installation on the standard 2.0-liter Mazda MX-5 NC, or as a retrofit for cars equipped with the BBR Super 200.

The complete BBR Super 225 tuning package for the 2.0L Mazda MX-5 NC consists of the following components:

- BBR stainless steel 4-to-1 exhaust manifold (optional catted version)
- BBR high-performance intake and exhaust camshafts
- BBR badges for front fenders and trunk lid
- Custom-made BBR aluminum ram pipe bracket/mounting plate (carbon-fiber option available)
- Custom-made BBR DBW system – full OEM ECU integration
- Custom-made BBR air rail for MAP and servo power
- Curved aluminum intake ram pipe extensions
- CNC-machined 20 mm aluminum intake ram pipes—black and silver anodized for a discreet, OEM-style look
- BBR StarChip ECU remap
- BBR foam air filter

The end result is a powerful 224 pk at 7550 rpm, combined with a maximum torque of 174 LBFT at 5950 rpm. More than 170 LBFT of torque is available from 4,000 to 6,000 rpm, with over 150 LBFT of torque available from just 3,000 rpm all the way up to the 7,800 rpm rev limiter (NC models limited to 7,500 rpm) – The user-friendly nature of the conversion is emphasized; it is suitable for daily driving and is ideally suited for city driving, touring, and track days. The sound is unmistakable. The rugged engine sound is clearly audible in the cabin. The exhilarating sound will make every ride an experience.

Careful development by BBR has ensured that, despite the significant performance improvement, the Super 225 upgrade fully complies with emissions regulations and runs on fuel with an octane rating of 98 or 95 (E5–E10).

Fully installed by us, the BBR “Super 225” package costs just €6,950, including VAT.

The BBR Super 225 package can also be installed on the Mazda MX-5 NC 1.8L. Power output will range between 190 and 195pk.
