MX5 Knock sensor NC

This original Mazda knock sensor (knock sensor) measures vibrations in the engine block and detects early pinging or detonation. Suitable for the Mazda MX5 NC (2005 - 2015).

Based on this signal, the engine control automatically adjusts the ignition timing to prevent engine damage and optimize engine performance.

The knock sensor plays a crucial role in balancing power and reliability. When the sensor malfunctions, the engine may run restlessly, lose power or malfunction.

In practice, this sensor is often replaced when fault codes, unexplained power loss or when the engine starts running in a safe (restricted) mode.
