The front bumper of a Mazda MX5 NA (1989 - 1997) has an open air intake so the radiator is directly visible behind the bumper. Installing a grill preserves airflow while reducing stone chips and dirt from reaching sensitive parts. This will better protect a vulnerable part of the front of the car while driving.
