Brake hoses on a Mazda MX5 NA (1989 - 1997) transport brake fluid under pressure from the master cylinder to the calipers at the wheels. They must be flexible to accommodate movement of the suspension without losing pressure. These hoses thus form the connection between the master cylinder and the car's brake calipers, where the braking force is ultimately converted.
