Downpipe

The mid-muffler of a Mazda MX5 NA (1989–1997) is located between the manifold and the rear silencer and provides initial damping of the exhaust noise. In addition, this muffler helps to guide the exhaust gases through the system. The gas flow passing through here originates from the exhaust manifold, which is mounted directly on the car’s engine, where the exhaust gases are produced.
