The cylinder head of a Mazda MX-5 NA (1989–1997) is located on top of the engine block and forms the sealing part of the combustion chambers. It contains valves, passages, and the combustion chamber where air and fuel mix. The operation of the cylinder head depends directly on the camshaft and valve train in the engine, which determine when the valves open and close.
