Sensors in a Mazda MX5 NA (1989 - 1997) measure various engine values such as temperature, RPM and air supply. That data is used to keep the engine running correctly under varying conditions. The signals from these sensors are processed by the car's engine management system, which uses them to control fuel and ignition.
