The muffler of a Mazda MX5 NA (1989 - 1997) is located at the rear of the exhaust system and is responsible for muffling the noise produced by the engine. Exhaust gases flow through this muffler before leaving the MX5. This damping builds on the gas flow previously routed throughthe intermediate muffler and the car's exhaust system, regulating the overall noise level.
