The rear muffler of a Mazda MX-5 NA (1989–1997) is located at the rear of the exhaust system and serves to dampen the noise produced by the engine. Exhaust gases flow through this muffler before leaving the MX5. This muffling builds upon the gas flow previously directed throughthe intermediate muffler and the car’s exhaust system, thereby regulating the overall noise level.
