Calipers of a Mazda MX5 NA (1989 - 1997) convert hydraulic pressure into mechanical force with which brake pads are pressed against the brake discs. This provides the actual deceleration of the car. The operation of these calipers depends directly on the brake pressure built up through the system via the master cylinder, which distributes the force evenly.
