In the dashboard of an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000), information, controls and experience come together nicely. Instruments provide continuous insight into what is happening technically, from engine temperature to rpm and charging voltage, while frames and details at the same time do much for the appearance of the cockpit. It is precisely behind the steering wheel that a neat finish immediately stands out, as this is the part of the interior to which the eye returns again and again during every drive. When switches and electrical controls in the dashboard also match up nicely, the whole thing feels mechanically correct and cared for.
