Parking Brake

In the center of the MX5 NB (1998–2000) interior, the parking brake is an integral part of daily operation. Braking force is transmitted to the rear wheels via a mechanical cable connection, ensuring the car remains securely in place when parked. The parking brake is located directly next to the gearshift lever and is therefore an important part of the feel and appearance of the center console. The components responsible for braking at the rear of the car bring together both operation and technology, while wear and tear often becomes visible in the handle, cover, or the mechanism itself. In older cars, you’ll notice that a well-adjusted parking brake immediately contributes to a solid and well-maintained impression of the interior.
