Mud flaps

Around the wheel wells of an MX5 NB (1998–2000), the paint and body panels are exposed daily to splashing water, sand, and road debris. Mud flaps provide extra protection against this wear and tear and help prevent debris from being flung directly against vulnerable parts of the body. The underside of the body and the areas directly behind the wheels benefit from this the most, as moisture and dirt often accumulate there during use. On cars that are frequently driven in wet conditions, the first signs of wear often appear precisely in these areas. As a result, mud flaps are not only a practical addition but also a way to keep the surrounding body parts looking good for longer.
