Switch and relay

Distributed throughout an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000) are dozens of switches and relays that control and protect electrical functions. From lights and ventilation to power windows and wipers, virtually every system uses a combination of controls and electrical circuitry. Relays thereby take over the heavy current load, while switches provide control from the cabin. On older cars, failures often occur due to worn contacts, oxidation or internal wear. When the wiring and connections between the various systems also remain in good condition, electrical components function more reliably.
