The rear muffler of an MX5 NB (1998–2000) is the final component of the exhaust system and dampens the exhaust noise. When the car is lowered using coilover kits, ground clearance decreases, bringing the exhaust closer to the road surface. Corrosion, loose parts, or worn-out rubber mounts can lead to unusual noises or rattling.
