On the underside of an MX5 NB (1998–2000), the body is constantly exposed to splashing water, dirt, road debris, and fluctuating temperatures from the road surface. This area contains structural components, mounting points, and sheet metal parts that absorb significant forces under load while also needing to remain protected from external influences. Especially on cars driven in wet conditions, the first signs of damage often appear right here. When the protective components around the wheel wells and underbody also remain in good condition, the entire base structure benefits.
