On an MX5 NB (1998–2000), minor damage to the paintwork almost always occurs due to normal use, especially on the front end, wheel rims, and other parts that are heavily exposed to the elements. Such minor damage may seem harmless, but as soon as bare metal is exposed, moisture has free rein. A touch-up pen helps to neatly seal that spot and maintain the uniform color of the bodywork. Especially when the surrounding body panels also remain in good condition, the car immediately looks better maintained.
