On the front of an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000), the parafan plays an important role in air conduction around the radiator. Instead of allowing air to flow uncontrolled along the cooling package, this construction helps to better direct airflow through the radiator, allowing heat to dissipate more efficiently. Especially during slow traffic or hot summer days, you notice how important a properly functioning cooling system is. Here, the parafan forms a link between the fan, radiator and the parts that together are responsible for the heat management of the engine, so that the cooling capacity can be optimally utilized. On older cars, you can sometimes see cracks or deformation forming, causing air to be sent less efficiently.
