On every wheel hub of an MX5 NB (1998–2000), wheel bolts and wheel nuts ensure that the wheel is securely fastened. When widening the track—which involves moving the wheel further outward—longer wheel bolts may be required, depending on the type of track spacer. Damaged threads, corrosion, or improper tightening of the wheel nuts therefore require immediate attention.
