In the middle of the cockpit of an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000), the center console forms the connection between various controls and interior panels. This is where components such as the shift lever, handbrake, storage compartments and various switches come together in one central part of the interior. Through daily use, this part of the interior gets a lot of wear and tear, scratches or damaged attachment points can become visible over time. Precisely because the console connects directly to the parts used to shift and drive, a neat fit and finish is immediately noticeable during every drive. The center console thus largely determines how well cared for and solid the interior feels.
