In an MX5 NB (1998–2000), the seat position largely determines how responsive the car feels. Because you sit low and close to the steering wheel, pedals, and gearshift, you immediately notice the support, seat surface, and choice of materials during every drive. After years of getting in and out of the car, wear and tear often becomes visible on the side bolsters, upholstery, and mounting points in the frame. When the connecting parts around the seat rails and the floor side are also in good condition, the seating position feels solid and familiar again.
