In an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000), seat position largely determines how direct the car feels. Because you sit low and close to the steering wheel, pedals and shifter, you notice support, seating and materials immediately during every drive. After years of getting in and out, this is where you often see wear developing on side cheeks, upholstery and mounting points in the frame. When the connecting parts around seat rails and floor sides are also in neat order, the seating position feels solid and familiar again.
