In an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000), seat heating increases comfort during cold days by releasing heat directly through the seat and backrest. Under the upholstery are heating elements, wiring and switches that work together to build up the temperature in a controlled manner. This is often appreciated especially in a roadster, as open driving remains attractive even outside the hottest months. The heater is controlled by switches and electrical components that support cabin comfort, so reliable electrical control is important for even heat output.
