The air conditioning system of an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000) does more than just produce cold air during hot days. The system extracts moisture from the air, keeping windows free of condensation faster and making the cabin climate feel more pleasant in a variety of weather conditions. Through compressor, pipes, condenser and evaporator, heat is moved and dissipated, while the cooled air is then directed into the interior. As a result, air conditioning works closely with the air ducts, valves and controls of the heating system to keep temperature and air distribution in sync. On older cars, failures often occur due to leaks, outdated seals or wear and tear on rotating components.
