In the engine compartment of an MX5 NB (1998–2000), the battery serves as the central hub of the electrical power supply. During startup, it delivers a high amount of power to the starter motor and electrical systems in a short period of time, while mounting hardware ensures that the battery remains securely in place despite vibrations and movement of the chassis. Over the years, oxidation or wear often develops around the battery terminals and mounting points due to moisture and temperature fluctuations. When the cable connections and electrical terminals around the power supply are also kept in good condition, the system continues to function more reliably.
