On an MX5 NB (1998–2000), minor damage to the paintwork almost always occurs due to normal use, especially around the front end, wheel wells, and the front of the side panels. Stone chips, light scratches, and damage down to the bare metal may seem minor, but they often mark the beginning of further deterioration when moisture is allowed to penetrate. A touch-up pen helps to neatly seal such areas and better preserve the original color. Especially when visible parts of the bodywork around the damage remain in pristine condition, the car immediately looks better maintained.
