MX5 Gearbox Speed Sensor - 6-speed

Speed Sensor (Transmission Sensor) – Compatible with the 6-speed manual transmission on the Mazda MX-5 NB - NBFL (1998–2005)
The sensor ensures accurate measurement of driving speed and plays a central role in coordinating with the odometer, speedometer, ABS module, and engine management system, among other components.

A properly functioning speed sensor is essential for the smooth and safe operation of the powertrain and the MX5 as a whole. A faulty or malfunctioning speed sensor can cause issues such as a non-functioning speedometer, error codes, or erratic engine behavior. 

The sensor is mounted on the transmission and measures the rotational speed of the drive shaft. This data is then transmitted digitally to the car’s electronic control unit, enabling the systems to function accurately.

Please note: This sensor is only suitable for models with a 6-speed transmission.
