Framing and glass cleaning

Around the windows of an MX5 NB (1998 - 2000), glass, trim and seals come together in a single unit that is both functionally and visually important. The moldings provide a neat transition between glass and body, while helping to keep dirt and moisture away from sensitive connecting surfaces. On cars that have been outside for years, you often see rubbers hardening or moldings losing their original connection to the sheet metal. On a roadster in particular, such details are more quickly noticeable because the transition between cabin and exterior is so pronounced. This is why glass parts are often combined with seals around windows and bodywork-transitions, so that fit and finish are nicely preserved.
